Ding Dang (丁噹) in HK
Ding Dang (丁噹) has a lovely voice and she uses the whistle register well. She just had her first mini concert at a live music pub in Hong Kong. To my surprise, many of her fans are teenage girls around 13-14 (I always have an impression that these girls would love young boy groups like 棒棒堂, nevertheless, I am happy they have good taste.)

Coco Before Chanel
Good movie. Audrey Tautou is great. No one plays the young Coco better than she does. She has this special temperament that is perfect for the a rebellious character like Coco Chanel.
Coco Chanel marked the beginning of the independence movement of women. She didn’t want to attach to any men and wanted to work her own way out. Thanks to Coco and her fashion style, women can wear functional clothes like men, and thus, be a functional part of the society, not decorations anymore.

心と能井 (Jun2009)
心と能井 (Shin and Noi), my favorite pair in the manga ドロヘドロ (Dorohedoro). I sketched with pencil and processed it with GIMP. Good fun and easy.
Dorohedoro is an underground manga which is running in IKKI (a Japanese monthly manga magazine).
The drawing style of Dorohedoro is completely stunning, messy and dark (unlike the main stream styles which are usually clean and tidy). The illustrator background of the author 林田球 (Q Hayashida) probably influences her drawing style. I don’t know if there is an English translation for this manga. Something more about Shin (right) and Noi (left): they are the most powerful killer pair in En’s mafia family. Unlike their killing skill, they are very childish and immature in daily life. It’s obvious that they like each other, but they are too shy to take action. Before they became partners, they were once enemy because Shin didn’t pay for his meal after eating in En’s restaurant. Here is 鳥太 (a friend) commented on their relationship:
“最初は反目しあっていたなんてロマンチックだね!” (translation: “how romantic for them to hate each other during the first meeting!”)
